Ashley Narang recently earned her Master’s degree in Piano Performance and Literature at the University of Western Ontario under the Western Graduate Research Scholarship studying with Stéphan Sylvestre.
She received her Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University studying with Dr. Yin Zheng. During her time in Richmond, Ashley was the Director of Music and Piano Accompanist at Stockton Memorial Baptist Church where she conducted, accompanied, and led the choir and congregation. As an active member of the community, Ashley had several internships for their annual PianoFest and Global Summer Piano Institute where she organized and marketed cultural exchange and piano collegiality between VCU and leading music institutions in China.
Ashley has performed at the W.E. Singleton Center, James W. Black Music Center, von Kuster Hall, Paul Davenport Theatre, and Festival Academy Hall in, Völs am Schlern, Italy. Along with accompanying vocalists and chamber groups, she has performed with the Don Wright Faculty of Music’s Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band and Symphonic Orchestra. Apart from performing, her position as a Piano Instructor at Chester Performing Arts Center and Academy of Music London followed the curriculum of the Royal Conservatory of Music and Conservatory Canada. This allowed Ashley to offer students’ timely and immersive training in piano repertoire, technique, and musicianship to prepare them for their practical examination. Currently, Ashley is the Director of Music at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Spring, Texas. She looks forward to continuing her studies by pursing a Doctoral of Arts Degree in the near future.
