The Kahan Piano Prodigies Competition held a past and present winners' recital. Biyun won second place in the 2021 competition and Olivia won first place in 2022!
Many of our students won prizes at the Sonata and Sonatina Piano Competition in Corpus Christi, including Sasha who won 1st place, and Nathan who won 1st place with special honors. Also taking home awards were Nealan, Emily, Devon, Dylan, Maria, Peyton, Nora, Sophia, Shriram, Matthew, Anjali, Catherine, Iris, Tianwei, and Audrey. Congratulations, everyone!
At the Rocky Mountain International Piano Competition, Alex Pesic won 1st place, Nathan Chiu and Lara both took 3rd place, and Alexandra Wong receive Honorable Mention. Congratulations!
BIG congratulations to:
- Biyun for winning 1st place in the Houston Music Teachers Association Concerto Competition (elementary division).
- Elias for winning 2nd place in the Houston Music Teachers Association 2022 Piano Contest.
- Alexandra Wong for winning an Open Prize at the 2021 Baroque Festival.
- Nathan Chiu for receiving 2nd prize at the Texas Young Pianists Competition held at Blinn College, AND 3rd place at the 2022 American Music Talent Competition.
Congratulations to the many students who received top scores at the Houston Music Teachers Association Music Festival held at St. Thomas University. Top scorers are eligible to perform at the Texas Music Teachers Association state convention, and some of our students did travel to Dallas to perform.
