Anne Franc

Anne Franc began her musical studies at the Conservatoire of Namur in Belgium. In 1992 she received a First Piano Diploma at the Royal Conservatoire of Music of Liège, Belgium. There, she continued her studies with J. Longrée-Poumay.

In 1995 she furthered her piano education at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Belgium, where she graduated in 1998 under the supervision of J. Longrée-Poumay. In 1999, she received the Superior Piano Diploma at the Royal Conservatoire of Music of Liège (Belgium) as well as the Piano Diploma at the European Institute of Music (Besancon, France). Until 2001, she worked with A. Simon and N. Weems at the Moores School of Music (University of Houston, Texas).

In 1996 she received the Victor Bohet-Paul Hanson prize from the Fondation AMC and, in 1997, she was supported by the Thirionet funds (Namur, Belgium). In 1998 she won the Renée Roost and Aristide Coclet prizes. In 1999 she was awarded a grant from the Fondation Belge de la Vocation to further improve her piano playing abroad. In the summer of 2001 she participated in the Chamber music festival of the International Festival-Institute at Round Top (Texas).

Anne frequently appears in recitals and chamber music sessions, performing works from the Baroque to the early twentieth century periods. She has performed recitals in in Belgium, Brunei, Singapore, and Houston, Texas. She recently joined the Houston Tuesday Music Club where she plays on a regular basis, lately at the Match venue.

About her teaching career, Anne says, “All along my journey, I have always enjoyed sharing my passion with students of all ages and levels. My genuine pleasure of teaching lies in finding the way to trigger each student’s motivation and true appreciation for music.”
